Treatment concepts
Sedation (twilight sleep)
Many patients with anxiety and children have to forego important treatments because treatment with the usual methods is impossible for them. Gentle sedation is absolutely recommended for these patients. Nitrous oxide sedation is a primary dental technique used by many dentists worldwide. It involves the continuous inhalation of a mixture of nitrous oxide and oxygen through a nasal mask. Unlike anesthesia, the patient responds to external stimuli and breathes independently. This allows the dentist to cooperate with the patient at all times. After the treatment, the patient is fully conscious again and can therefore leave the practice independently.
The oxygen/nitrous oxide mixture takes effect after a few breaths. The patient very quickly feels an anxiety-relieving and relaxing lightness. The perception of pain is greatly reduced, so that even an injectio n anesthesia (syringe) can become unnecessary.
The gag reflex, which can make treatments impossible, is also completely eliminated.
Tolerance
Laughing gas sedation is a very tolerable method, so no personal escort is required after the treatment. When sedating the patient with nitrous oxide, general anesthesia is never induced, and the usual side effects do not occur with this application. The patient remains responsive at all times during the treatment and can easily communicate with the treating dentist.

Pain-free treatment concept
Pain-free dental treatment is a basic requirement for a pleasant and stress-free visit to the dentist.
For dental diseases, there are many different painless or painless dental treatments where the patient does not have to suffer pain. For this, the treating dentist must take the time to find out these individually for the patient. In the vast majority of cases, local anesthetic is the method of choice. This usually guarantees a painless treatment. Unfortunately, there are also people for whom anesthesia has an insufficient effect. Sometimes, however, a simple preceding antibiosis is sufficient. If this also remains ineffective, then sedation (laughing gas sedation) can be used relatively quickly without complications, which then guarantees pain-free treatment.
However, there are also people who refuse or cannot tolerate an injection. In these cases, we routinely use laughing gas sedation (twilight sleep), which then guarantees a painless and stress-free treatment.
